Rev. Dr Gordon Preece is commissioning editor of Zadok Perspectives, which recently received the Gutenberg lifetime achievement award from the Australasian Religious Press Association. He is also Senior Social Policy Officer at Catholic Social Services Victoria and Chair and Executive of the Melbourne Anglican Social Responsibilities Committee. He is an Honorary Research Fellow at Whitley College, University of Divinity. He was recently Director of the University of Divinity Centre for Research in Religion and Social Policy and is a member of its successor, the Religion and Social Policy network there.

Gordon was Director of the Centre for Applied Christian Ethics (CACE) at Ridley College, Macquarie Christian Studies Institute, and Urban Seed, a ministry of hospitality among the homeless. He has ministered at several Anglican churches in Sydney and recently St Mark's Anglican Church at Spotswood, Melbourne. He lectured on ethical risk in finance at the Macquarie University School of Applied Finance and was Ethicist for Christian Super.

Gordon is an international leader in workplace theology with the Lausanne Workplace Network and as a member of the Board of Directors and Editorial Board of the Theology of Work Project

Gordon is a prolific writer, as author/editor of 12 books, including an edited volume (with Ian Packer) titled Bonhoeffer Down Under, and most recently co-editor of Religion in a Secular Age? He Gordon is married to Susan, a mental health educator, and has 3 thirty to forty-ish children and 5 joyful grandchildren from 2 months to 7 years. He loves the world game, which he still plays, following Spurs, and Cats in footy.
