Ethos 2017 Dinner & AGM Report

Tuesday, 7 November 2017  | Gordo Preece

The Ethos Board and members met on Wednesday 25th October at All Saints Anglican Church, Greensborough, to review the past year and look to the future.

One of the highlights was that we are now able to employ a part-time Administrator (one day a week), which relieves the Ethos Board Chair, full-time worker and part-time renovator David Spargo from what has been a herculean task. Hail David. With more funding, we can make that role permanent and employ Armen Gakavian to expand his work reaching young writers and university students.

2017 featured a number of excellent events: the Faith & Work Award Dinner with Wilma Gallet speaking on welfare; and events around Refugee Rights, New Economy and more. Zadok Perspectives gained 3 silver awards and one gold award at the ARPA awards.

After the AGM and a wonderful dinner, Dr Brian Edgar spoke winsomely on a section of his forthcoming book The God Who Plays. He outlined a theology beyond just servanthood and this fallen world, but one of friendly, free play in companionship with a playful God.
